What is the race entry deadline?
Online registration will close on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at 11:59 AM CST. All mailed registration forms must be received by Saturday, November 3, 2012.
There will be event registration on race day at the Quality of Life Expo, located at Navy Pier's lakefront Terrace.

Can someone else pick up my race packet?
If you are unable to pick up your packet during the designated times on Thursday and Friday at packet pick-up, yes, you may have someone else pick it up for you. However, they must have a copy of your photo I.D. in order to pick up your packet. No exceptions!

Where do I get my race number and timing chip?
All registered participants will receive a timing chip that is attached to their race/bib number in their goody bags at packet pick up(Times and location to be announced shortly)

All race participants must cross the finish line on Navy Pier by 11:00 am.

Will gear check be available?
Yes. Gear check areas will be located inside of Navy Pier at the Quality of Life Expo which is located on the second level in the Lakeview Terrace

Am I allowed to use my MP3 player during the race?
For the safety of all on the course, we recommend you do not use portable music devices on the course. However, the utility of them is by no means banned or barred.

From the north, take Lake Shore Drive (US 41) to the Grand Avenue exit.

From the northwest, take the Kennedy Expressway (I-90/94) to the Ohio Street Exit, south on Orleans to Illinois Street and proceed east.

From the west, take the Eisenhower Expressway (I-290) to Columbus Drive, north to Illinois Street and proceed east.

Where should I park?
Chicago, a city of many streets, has plenty of street parking available near Navy Pier that simply requires you to pay at the pay boxes. However, if you would rather park at the venue itself, Navy Pier will have special promotional parking rates throughout the duration of our event. There is no validation or voucher needed for these discounted rates. Anyone parking at the pier will receive these rates:

Monday – Thursday for cars in the garage by 5:00 pm $14 ($6 discount)

Friday – Sunday for cars in the garage by 5:00 pm $18 ($6 discount)

Monday – Sunday for cars in the garage after 5:00 pm $10 ($10-14 discount)

What is the average temperature on race day?
Chicago is known for its cold winter months, but we’re in luck! November has a milder climate than the one you’re thinking of!
November’s average temperature ranges from 34 - 48°F (Farmer’s Almanac)
The average snow accumulation for the entire month of November is only 2.2”.

Am I allowed to run with a baby jogger?
While we would love to allow you to do that, for safety's sake we are not allowing it for this race. The path gets relatively narrow - especially when we merge onto mid-level Lake Shore Drive and we don't want to risk the safety of other runners and especially a child.

Can we walk the course or is this a run only?
This is not a run only race,we do welcome walkers. However, the 10K was created especially for those who want to challenge themselves with a bit further distance and is the only course that allows walkers for the duration of the race. Obviously if you need to walk a bit on the 10 Mile course that is allowed. Please note, all participants must cross the finish line by 11:00 am as we can only shut down streets until that time.

What is the max number of participants for the race?
We are capping the event this year at 5,000 participants. However, we are also thinking about doing heats rather than waves to allow for more - and better - spacing. The path does get fairly narrow at certain points and this is a concern that we are addressing. We will make whatever modifications necessary to ensure your safety and the safety of the other participants and path users.

Do all finishers receive a medal?
YES! All finishers of the 10 Mile and 10 K races will receive a medal. You deserve one after all your hard work!

Do you have any hotel deals for those coming from a differnet state and would like to spend couple of nights in Chicago? Like a host hotel?
we do not have any official hotel arrangements but the two closests are the W on Lake Shore Drive and the Doubletree

I'm a plus size female. Do you offer tshirts larger than XL? I'd like very much to have a fitted shirt to commerate this 10 mile run. Please consider larger tshirt sizes (preferably at no added cost). This is discouraging at times. Thanks!!

I wonder if I can cancel and refund my money
This event has a registration refund plan adminiatered by Stonebridge Benefit Services,Inc
With this plan you may receive a full refund if you are unable to participate due to injury or an unforseen illness,normal pregnancy or childbirth including pregnancy complications;you are on Active Military Duty and receive unanticipated reassignment or deployment orders or have personal leave revoked,except for disciplinary reasons; or due to your loss of life.
What you must do to claim a refund:
You will need to submit a claim form along with proof that is acceptable to Stonebridge Benefit Services,Inc that shows that you are unable to participate in the event.In the case of an injury, illness or pregnancy, you must see a physician within 72 hours of the event. The physician must advise you not to participate in the event and will need to sign your claim form.
